MINDFULNESS-BASED RESILIENCE

SIX WEEK ONLINE GROUP PROGRAM

Sundays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm EST

Program:

This six week group program is for anyone who wants to learn how to create mindfulness practice in a trauma-informed way to build resilience and reduce compassion fatigue or stress. This group is not only for caregivers or helping professionals, it’s for anyone who wants to reduce stress through mindfulness.

According to the American Psychological Association,

“Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress — such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors. It means “bouncing back” from difficult experiences”

Content:

  • Training guide and downloadable audio guided practices
  • How to practice various forms of mindfulness meditation (breath, body, senses, walking, eating, yoga)
  • How mindfulness can help reduce compassion fatigue, stress and anxiety in a trauma-informed way
  • How to develop your own practice at home, even if you have a busy schedule
  • Review of resources, props and books to deepen your practice

Format:

This training is delivered live and will not be recorded for replays (just as if you were attending a live group in your community, but from the comfort of your own home!).  You will be required to have a webcam and microphone to participate (the same that you would use for Skype/Facetime or other video chats).

Schedule:

Sundays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (EST/New York/Toronto).

Continuing Education:

After the last class there will be an optional quiz where upon successful completion you will be given a certificate of attendance for six hours of continuing education.  This will require you to be at all six classes.

By now you’ve probably heard of the many physical and mental health benefits of regularly practicing mindfulness or mindfulness meditation.  I’ve been incorporating mindfulness based interventions into therapy with clients since 2012 and have seen how transformative this practice can be.  In 2013, I completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher Training and have facilitated it with both private practice clients and patients through Alberta Health Services.  

Join me for a completely online program where we will meet in a secure, online room, weekly for one hour to discuss and practice mindfulness meditation.  You will be given audio downloads and homework to complete between our weekly sessions.  You will learn various forms of mindfulness meditation, props that can be used, additional resources, how to set up a schedule that is realistic for your lifestyle and you will have the chance to practice with me weekly and ask me questions as you learn and practice.

Registration:

Registration is $197 for all six weeks, including audio downloads and homework.  A receipt for Social Work Services will be provided.   There are no refunds for this program.  Registration is in US Currency.  Limited Spots Available.
